Construction Shop & Warehouse Assistant

Position Summary

Fitch Construction is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and organized Construction Shop & Warehouse Assistant to help keep our shop, warehouse, materials, tools, and equipment organized and ready for our remodeling projects.

This position is an important part of our team and will work closely with our carpenters, project managers, and office staff to ensure that materials and equipment are available and prepared when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe construction shop and warehouse.

Receive, unload, organize, and store construction materials and deliveries.

Pull and prepare materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects.

Load and unload company vehicles and trailers.

Maintain organization of lumber, building materials, tools, hardware, and supplies.

Assist with inventory control and notify management when materials or supplies need to be replenished.

Assist carpenters and project managers with preparation of materials for jobs.

Perform basic shop projects, repairs, assembly, and material preparation as needed.

Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and properly maintained.

Assist with loading materials and debris for transportation to and from job sites.

Make occasional material pickups and deliveries.

Help maintain company vehicles, trailers, and equipment.

Properly dispose of construction debris and maintain a clean work environment.

Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

Assist with general shop and construction-related tasks as directed by management.

Perform other duties as needed to support the Fitch Construction team.

Qualifications

•Previous construction, remodeling, warehouse, shop, or general labor experience preferred.

•Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools preferred.

•Ability to safely lift and carry heavy materials.

•Ability to work on your feet and perform physical labor throughout the workday.

•Valid driver's license and reliable driving record preferred.

•Ability to operate basic power and hand tools.

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Dependable, punctual, and willing to take direction.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workplace.

Construction or remodeling experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a "Go Team Attitude."

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 75 pounds.

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.

Safely operate hand and power tools.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Safely load and unload materials and equipment.

Schedule

Full-Time — Monday through Friday

Typical hours: 7:30am-5pm

Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required based on company and project needs.
